About
The Homann family's hotel began in the 19th century as a simple bamboo-and-thatch building; the curved, streamlined block seen today was designed by A.F. Aalbers and finished in late 1939. It hosted delegations during the 1955 Asia–Africa Conference. It still runs as a hotel, and its facade is a few steps from Gedung Merdeka along Jalan Asia Afrika.
