Run by the city archives and library office (Dinas Arsip dan Perpustakaan), it shares its address with the city archive building. Most readers now use its Sibooky digital library: BPS counted about 4.1 million digital visits in 2025, against 10,195 walk-in visitors and 34,085 at the mobile library. The printed collection holds about 50,600 general titles plus children's, Braille and local-content sections.
