The alun-alun was rebuilt in 2025 and reopened just before the 167th Hari Jadi on 31 January 2026, with a children's play area, a family room, a paseban pavilion and washroom facilities. Locals come from late afternoon to stroll, jog and snack from the vendors around the edge. Masjid Agung Sidoarjo stands just to the west, so the two make an easy pair.
