About
Sukarno read the proclamation from the front terrace of the house that stood here; the building was demolished in the 1960s. Today Taman Proklamasi holds large statues of Sukarno and Hatta by I Nyoman Nuarta, with a black marble copy of the typed proclamation text between them. It is free and makes a quiet stop on a Menteng walk.
