About
Pasar Baru grew up around a market founded in 1820 and is entered through a gate opposite the Gedung Kesenian. The street is lined with fabric, shoe, clothing and jewellery shops, many run by Sikh and Sindhi families, while the northern end specialises in cameras and cosmetics. Bargaining is normal, and Bakmi Gang Kelinci is just behind.
