About

The station opened on 9 July 1887 to study the sereh disease, and in 1921 it released POJ 2878, a cane variety that helped rescue the colonial sugar industry. It is still a working research institute, so admire its large colonial buildings from the street unless you have arranged a visit. The city wants to link the complex with nearby Gedung Harmonie as one heritage route.
