About
Desa Bulang has made klepon since about 1980, and Hajah Nunuk's family business carries the tradition on. The slightly pointed balls use glutinous rice and tapioca coloured with natural leaf juice and filled with gula merah, and they are still wrapped in banana leaves. You buy straight from the production house, which also sells lupis, klanting and jongkong and runs cooking classes.
