About
Local tradition dates batik making here to 1675, and the regency formally launched the kampung as a batik tulis production area on 3 May 2008. Early Jetis batik used dark soga browns, but coastal buyers pushed it toward bright colours, and motifs such as beras utah, kembang bayem and kembang tebu draw on local crops. Entry is free, so wander the lanes, watch the artisans with their canting and buy straight from the workshops.
