About
Suitcase makers in Desa Kedensari were at work by 1957, and the INTAKO bag and suitcase cooperative followed on 7 April 1976. In the 1980s and 1990s officials, companies and foreign visitors came to shop and weekend traffic jammed the roads; it is much quieter now and many old buildings have changed use. Locally made leather bags and shoes are still sold at affordable prices, and Dawet Surya Jaya on Jalan Raya Kludan makes a good break.
