About
Penglipuran keeps its traditional village plan based on Tri Hita Karana, and motor vehicles are banned from the main street, so the walk up the slope is calm. Its bamboo forest won the village a Kalpataru award in 1995, and the Green Destinations Foundation has named it among the cleanest villages in the world. Come 08.00–10.00, before tour groups, and try loloh cemcem, the local herbal drink.
