About
Klungkung's palace went up at the end of the 17th century, its gate dated Saka 1622 (AD 1700), and was largely destroyed when the Dutch took the town in 1908. The Kertha Gosa court pavilion, the Bale Kambang floating pavilion and the main gate survive, with the Semara Jaya museum in the grounds. The Puputan Klungkung monument stands across the road.
