About
Penataran Agung is the first of seven temples climbing Mount Lempuyang, whose summit temple is one of Bali's nine directional temples; its white candi bentar frames Mount Agung to the west. Photo queues are numbered and waits of one to three hours are common, so arrive early. It is an active temple: wear a sarong, and by local custom women who are menstruating do not enter.
